The Czech rock band Helmutova stříkačka was founded in 1986 by Robert Staniczek as a recessional band. The band was affiliated with theatre, performing at various high school and college events. The music of Helmutova stříkačka was influenced by the guitar rock of the receding new wave, and an important component was the ironic and melancholic lyrics that formed the composed units linked by the characters of Helmut and his wife Hilda.
